Community Cup CHARITY is a nonprofit, tax-exempt, IRS 501c3 organization that began in 2018 in honor of Lt. Richard W Martin, USN. Rich was a stellar student and award winning cross country running star at Strong Vincent High School in Erie, Pennsylvania. Rich was a graduate of the United States Naval Academy. Lt. Rich died during the Vietnam War of suicide.
Community Cup CHARITY supports:
- Veterans and their immediate family members
- Individuals dealing with depression and mental health issues
- High school students advancing their education through university and trade school education
Community Cup CHARITY also presents the prestigious CLIFFORD AWARDS recognizing remarkable individual lifetime accomplishments and the ordinary person doing extraordinary things and is named in honor of Clifford W Martin.
Cliff was remarkable young man who graduated from Strong Vincent High School, Washington and Jefferson College and the Wharton School of Finance. Cliff excelled in his professional life working with the General Accounting Office in the United States and in Europe. However, it is Cliff’s incredible love and lifetime help and support of his family, friends, neighbors, colleagues and community that we honor and embrace with the CLIFFORD AWARDS.
